As the New Year unfolds, it's a natural moment to reflect on the past and set intentions for the future.

Small changes can lead to a more fulfilling connection with ourselves. It’s odd but finding relaxation, often elusive in our busy lives, requires effort.

It's important to slow down, breathe, and cherish moments of quiet reflection. The turning of the calendar is an opportunity for mindful living, easing stress, and prioritising self-care.

Remember, rest is not wasted time; it often precedes renewed energy and productivity. And that's where we come in…

Relaxation for guests is at the heart of our what we do

Our aim is to provide a setting for you to immerse in tranquillity, like being wrapped in a thick blanket that makes you feel and warm and comforted. Our cottages have quiet corners, calming interiors, and crackling log fires. We are confident you will find them the perfect place to be still and come away rested.

And it’s not just the interiors to which we aim to provide ease for guests, but the whole booking and planning process.

From the moment you enquire about a stay with us, until far beyond you have said your goodbyes, our aim is to give you a smooth and uncomplicated experience.

We’re on hand to answer questions and offer help about the cottages or the local area, all day, every day. This is our small business, and we are passionate about delivering the ultimate, relaxing experience, making sure that you get the most you can out of your holiday.

Nature: good for the mind, body, and soul

Our holiday cottages are in the serene beauty of the Peak District National Park. Immersing yourself in nature is widely known for its mental health benefits. It offers an escape from daily life's hustle and bustle, allowing your mind to unwind and rejuvenate. The simple pleasures of feeling the breeze, breathing in fresh air, and soaking in the tranquil sounds of the countryside help ground you in the moment, fostering mindfulness.

The Peak District is a treasure trove of natural wonders, boasting rolling hills, breathtaking views, enchanting waterfalls, and diverse wildlife. It's the perfect setting to boost your serotonin levels and melt away stress, ensuring a restorative stay.

Relaxing interiors

The interiors at both of our cottages have been carefully curated for relaxation. Every detail has been carefully considered and thoughtfully put together, working cohesively with the original features. They're a real labour of love!

Both of our cottages, though very different in nature and age, are abundant in features and character. We believe this adds not only to the interesting aesthetics but also to the feel that the holiday cottages provide. That feeling that is cultivated from years of families living and breathing within the walls.

Swallow Cottage is a pretty 18th century Grade II listed cottage, in the heart of Bakewell. On arrival you are greeted by an attractive front garden, complete with seasonal plants, foliage and perfectly situated bench for a peaceful morning coffee. Step inside and you will see that nature and flowers are subtly blended into the interiors and vibe of the cottage, through the colour scheme, floral arrangements and occasional wreath. Beyond the aesthetics of the cottage, we've supplied high quality furniture, linens and towels add to the comfort and quality of the experience. The odd occasional chair has been added to spots where guests can relax and enjoy a precious moment away from the everyday hustle and bustle.

Both of our cottages have log burners situated in the lounge and dining room. There is no greater relaxation than settling in front of a real fire at the end of a day exploring the Peak District. Pull out one of the thick, fluffy throws and curl into the sofa while listening to the crackle!

Lodge Cottage comes with 600 years of history, including a castle window, cruck beam, and inglenook fireplace. If you're looking for character, Lodge Cottage has it by the bucket load. Again, we have blended nature into the interiors, to enhance the calm ambiance for our guest’s relaxation. Key features of this property are the principal suite, with its private sitting area, and the stunning copper bath in the garden bedroom.
